Banque de Luxembourg's Family Practice department has commissioned WISE to accompany a group of young people in an experience of otherness. Trips to Bangladesh were organized between 2017 and 2019 to enable these young people to discover frugal entrepreneurship, risk management and leadership. These trips have fostered awareness and reflection on the individual and collective responsibility of each and every one, going beyond philanthropy.
Launched by WISE, this fund involves young people in philanthropy to support projects focusing on education and biodiversity in French-speaking Switzerland. WISE facilitated the process, connecting donors and guiding the decision-making of the young participants.
WISE, represented by its partner Etienne Eichenberger, has been invited to join the Chair's Advisory Board at the request of the Mauvernay family, in order to provide guidance for strategic thinking on the positioning of the Chair, alongside Cédric Mauvernay and Anand Narasimhan, holder of the Shell Global Leadership Chair at IMD. The Debiopharm Chair for Family Philanthropy is held by Professor Peter Vogel.
Philanthropists who commit to co-financing these funds support projects in the fields of education and employment, healthcare and social impact, over a 3-year period. From 2012 to 2022, these funds have contributed $9.3 million to 28 organizations, directly benefiting a total of 171,607 people.
Following the establishment of the Foundation's new strategic priorities in November 2019, the Board and management of the Losch Foundation were keen to obtain feedback from the Foundation's beneficiaries on their perception of the Foundation's philanthropic work. This evaluation was intended to enable the Foundation to draw useful lessons for its 2024-2028 strategic projection.
