Training courses in philanthropy
In addition to advising donors on how best to realize their giving ambitions and maximize their impact, we offer training courses in philanthropy. To encourage stimulating discussion among peers, each course is designed for a specific audience, such as foundation board members, foundation employees, or NextGen philanthropists.
Each module provides in-depth knowledge and practical tools, as well as the opportunity to interact with peers who share your interests and challenges and to learn from their unique experiences and perspectives.
Continuing education for foundation board members
The Foundation Board Academy is a training and networking platform for board members of public-interest foundations. It was co-founded by Beate Eckhardt, former CEO of SwissFoundations and an expert in strategy and philanthropy, Prof. Georg von Schnurbein, Director of the Center for Philanthropy Studies at the University of Basel, and Etienne Eichenberger of WISE-philanthropy advisors. The Academy organizes an annual agile seminar entitled Better Foundation Governance.
Philanthropy is a field that is becoming increasingly professionalized, so it's important to keep up to date with best practices, and to understand the range of issues that a foundation deals with. That's why training is so important.

Education in philanthropy for the next generation
We love to facilitate stimulating conversations and learning opportunities. That's why we created the NextGen Bootcamp, a course designed for young members of the philanthropic families whom we are privileged to work with – or who might be interested in working with us.
How do I get started in philanthropy? What can I contribute? How can I bring in new ideas to the table while honouring what has been achieved by previous generations? What's the best way to discuss these issues as a family? What role does the concept of philanthropy play? What new approaches and tools can I use?
These are just a few of the questions that NextGen participants are encouraged to explore in this 3-day course (currently offered in French only).
Who is this course for?
- Younger members of philanthropic families considering how to get involved
- NextGen looking to share inspiration, exchange ideas, reflect, and develop their own projects in line with their family's history and values, in an open-minded yet confidential environment
- Young people interested in engaging in stimulating discussions on the nature of commitment, generosity, and responsibility
Discover the NextGen Bootcamp in our presentation video filmed during the 2021 edition.
